MOLLIE RENFROW
MEMBER, AFRICAN AMERICAN QUILT CIRCLE OF DURHAM
Mollie is a quilter and fiber artist. She was born and raised in Wilson County, North Carolina. Her mother taught her basic sewing skills. She got excited in the FHA (Future Homemaker of America) sewing classes at Rock Ridge High School. She spent years with sewing as a hobby while she had a career in finance.
She has been a member of Cotton Club Quilters of Goldsboro NC, Daughters of Dorcas Quilters of Washington DC, Tar River Quilters of Rocky Mount, NC, and African American Quilt Circle of Durham, NC. Over the last twelve years, Mollie has attended various workshops and classes. Most recently completing a cruise workshop in February 2016. She is currently pursuing a teaching certification with Sulky University.
Mollie’s work has been shown along the eastern coast of USA. Her work has displayed in the Underground Railroad Mall, Atlanta, GA; Disciple of Christ Quadrennial, Greensboro, NC; UNC, Chapel Hill, NC; Duke Medical North, Durham, NC; Hayti Center, Durham, NC; International Dance Conference, New York, NY; Art Council, Wilson, NC; History Museum, Charleston, SC; Juneteenth Festival, Winston Salem, NC; and at the Tobacco Museum, Kenly, NC.
Mollie is forever a student of fiber art. She will travel the world in search of fabrics and learning new techniques.
