NATALIE FRANKLIN
MEMBER, AFRICAN AMERICAN QUILT CIRCLE OF DURHAM
Natalie Franklin is a quilter, originally from New York City but currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC. She has been sewing by hand and machine since childhood.
Sewing has always been a relaxing hobby for her. She began learning how to make quilts in 2010. Besides creating quilts, she also enjoys making apparel, stuffed animals, bags, and home decor items.
Her inspiration comes from her many visits to craft and fabric shops. The different colors and patterns of the fabrics fascinate her. One can observe by looking at some of her quilts that she loves to use fabric collections. She does not subscribe to any one particular style or technique — leaving room for the question, “what if I add this to my project?”
Being a teacher of mathematics, she tends to use her knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry in the construction of her projects.
