Our Mission
The mission of the African American Quilt Circle of Durham (AAQC) is to preserve the tradition of quilting in the African American community, and support community service projects.
AAQC fulfills its mission by:
Educating members and the community about quilts, quilt making and African American quilt history through classes, workshops, and programs.
Promoting members’ talents, holding exhibitions, and encouraging quilt making.
Teaching members and the community the importance of labeling and documenting their quilts.
Contributing quilts to charitable organizations, and participating in local and statewide events that celebrates quilting in the African American culture.
How We Got Started
